My friends often ask me the question "are baked beans good for you". In this article I'm going to try to answer this question.
Baked beans are a
convenient food source for beans, you just have to heat them and then
they're ready! For dry beans you have to soak them for 24 hours to
get the toxins out and then you've to cook them for and then
cook them for 45 minutes.

Are Baked Beans
good for you?
For a healthy
non-diabetic person which watches out for their sodium intake I would
say that eating baked beans are good for you. That being said
I think It's not good to eat more than one serving per day as there's
390mg of sodium in baked beans and the upper limits of daily sodium
intake is 2400mg. People who're sensitive to sodium uptakes are
recommended to find baked beans with lesser amount of sodium.
Conclusion
For people that
don't have time to cook beans, baked beans are a great alternative.
They're relatively healthy and cheap. They don't have a lot of added
sugars in them and they're a great source of protein, vitamins and
minerals. They're virtually fat free and research have shown that
they lower total cholesterol levels and low-density lipoprotein
cholesterol. The only negative thing about baked beans is that they
can have moderate amount of sodium, but some manufactures are
producing baked beans with low levels of sodium.
